Selling guide
Selling bags second-hand
Bags are the category where buyers are most alert to fakes, which changes what a good listing looks like. Photographs of hardware, stitching and interior labels do more for a bag listing than any styled shot ever will.
Photograph it
Photograph the interior and the hardware close up, in daylight, without flash — flash flattens the grain that proves the leather.
What buyers check
- Interior condition, especially the lining and any pen marks
- Hardware wear on zips, feet and clasps
- Serial numbers, date codes or authenticity cards where they exist
The common mistake
Only showing the outside. An unseen interior reads as something being hidden.
