Selling guide
Selling boots second-hand
Boots hold their value better than almost any other second-hand item, and buyers know it. They expect wear and are looking for whether it is the kind that polishes out or the kind that means the boot is finished.
Photograph it
Shoot the heel and the toe separately in daylight — those are the two places wear shows, and a single wide shot hides both.
What buyers check
- Heel condition and whether they have been resoled
- Shaft height and calf width, which decide fit
- Leather quality against synthetic, which sets the price
The common mistake
One photo from the front. Buyers cannot judge a boot without seeing the profile.
