Selling shoes second-hand
Shoes other than trainers and boots are a broad category where the buyer is usually looking for a shape rather than a brand: loafers, ballet flats, mules. Naming the shape in the title matters more here than naming the maker.
Photograph it
Photograph the insole. It shows real wear honestly and it is where the size is usually still readable.
What buyers check
- Insole wear, which reveals how much they were actually worn
- Heel tips, if there is a heel at all
- Whether the shape has moulded to someone else's foot
The common mistake
Selling shoes that have moulded badly without saying so. They will never fit the next person and the return is guaranteed.
