Selling jeans second-hand
Jeans sell on measurements more than on photographs, because sizing is inconsistent between every brand ever made. The photo's job is narrower than usual: show the wash, the leg shape and the rise honestly, and put the real measurements in the description.
Photograph it
Lay them flat with one leg slightly crossed so the buyer can see both the front and the side of the leg in one shot.
What buyers check
- Waist and inside leg in centimetres, not just the label size
- The rise — high, mid or low changes everything about the fit
- Fading and whiskering, which are the character of a used pair
The common mistake
Trusting the label size alone. Vintage sizing runs small and a returned pair costs you the postage twice.
